    Letter of Engagement – Non Invasive Building Inspection on the property

    The report will be addressed to yourself as the customer as requested by you. 

    The terms of your relationship with Pro Check Building Reports Christchurch shall be governed by this letter of engagement and attached terms and conditions of trade. 

    Scope of Work to be Conducted: 

    In accordance with the Standards, the scope of the inspection will be limited to a visual inspection of the various components of the building only. This includes components in which the Inspector has reasonable access to and a reasonable line of sight as defined in our attached terms of conditions of trade. 

    Any areas not able to be accessed as defined in our attached terms and conditions will be identified in our report (“non-accessed areas”). Our report will not relate to these non-accessed areas. This includes areas of the property where lawful access has been restricted by the legal owner, such as a locked sub-floor space. 

    Accordingly, we accept no liability for any loss, damage or injury of any kind suffered or incurred by you in relation to the non-accessed areas not covered by our report. 

    Disclaimer – Weather Tightness Condition on Property 

    When undertaking the investigation on the property as outlined in this letter of engagement, a non-intrusive moisture meter may be used by our Inspectors around joinery or areas in the building identified to be moisture risk areas. Moisture readings from this test will be included in our report where high moisture readings have been identified on the property. 

    However we advise, and it is accepted by you, that this non-intrusive moisture meter test does not constitute a Weather Tightness Test on the property. Accordingly, the water tightness condition of the property is not covered under the scope of our report. 

    We accept no liability for any loss, damage or injury of any kind suffered or incurred by you in relation to the water tightness condition of the property.

    Time-frame of Inspection and Report

    If for whatever reason we are prevented from undertaking the inspection on this scheduled date we will notify you of this as soon as possible and advise you of the reasons why. 

    A new inspection date will be scheduled as soon as practically possible. 

    Once the inspection has been completed, we will endeavour to complete our report within the following 24 hours. 

    Once the inspection has been scheduled we will provide you with our invoice for payment. The completed report will be made available to you upon payment of our invoice.
